Antenna installation and alignment

how do i find the SINR with the HUAWEI B593s-601 ??

I've got the B315 model so I'm not familiar with that unit.
I suspect that if you can't see it on the screen that you're looking at, you won't be able to find it.

If this is the case, then try aim to get the best possible values for RSRP & RSRQ by moving the device around.

You could buy an weatherproof cabinet for the device and leave it outside- I'm sure this will work out cheaper than an external antenna.
I would then run an Ethernet cable inside to either a switch (to give you additional Ethernet ports) or to an access point.

no i wouldn't run a cable. the wireless is very good on the router i tested it thoroughly with international gaming to the UK and local servers. Excellent

pointing the antenna (external) in the right direction makes all the difference. I noticed a drop of 1mpbs for ever 3 degrees that I was out. Also note that you can point it up and down and not just from side to side.
My signal stats were very bad (similar to some of you), but after using a Poynting XPOL6 I got really good gains... and I'm technically outside of the coverage area for LTE.
Here is my signal stats now:
Screenshot_20171221-071301[1].jpg

Summary :
Router : Huawei B315
LTE : Rain
ISP : Webafrica
speed highest : 36 mbps
speed ave : 18 mbps
speed lowest : 11 mpbs
upload and download speed is about the same 1:1 ratio (sometimes upload is faster than download)
Jitter : 2
Ping : 18

Again... I'm OUTSIDE of the RAIN coverage area (about 200 meters)

hey Oakies why is it i get 1-2 Bars signal on Telkom 1800MhZ with the Huawei B315 but 2300MhZ i get 4 Bars signal on vodacom i have 1-2 Bar signal when i move away from the router my vodacom signal goes up to 3 bars. is my Body a Electric magnet?

i am looking for a post, it shows all the signal requirements for LTE (it's not a picture)

RSRP
RSRQ
RSSI
SINR

its a post that shows what the values should be with external antenna's i found last week now i cant find it :/
please link me to it.

I have got a Huawei B315 modem with a Telkom prepaid sim card. Got a Poynting XPOL-6 antenna which I installed yesterday and connected to the modem. After installation:
Signal parameters:
RSRQ -6db (good)
RSRP -83dBm (excellent)
SINR 5dB (bad)
RSSI -61 dBm (good)
Signal strength: 4 out of 5 bars.
Download speeds range from 14-21 (max)Mbps and upload speeds of around 19Mbps everytime. The download speeds dropped to around 2-3Mbps between 19:00 and 20:00 last night which might be contributed to congestion?
Anything else I can do to improve speeds and improve SINR which is bad? My modem software doesn't show cellID so not sure which tower I'm connected to. I just turned the antenna till I got best signal. In that direction I saw towers and I have direct line of sight to them.

Recommend the Huawei E5186 Toolbox to show the CELL ID :D
ask the Mybroadband Forum people for link.
have you tried 1800MhZ and 2300MhZ on TELKOM LTE ??

Update your firmware. It will give you the option to change the bands.

Hey guys. I have a Huawei b618 LTE-A router from telkom, I can't put up big antennas or anything in the estate I stay. is there anything else I can do to imporove my signal or other antenna options I can use?
