AI computing will consume more energy than India by 2030 — Arm

AI’s voracious need for computing power is threatening to overwhelm energy sources, requiring the industry to change its approach to the technology, according to Arm Holdings Plc chief executive officer Rene Haas.

By 2030, the world’s data centres are on course to use more electricity than India, the world’s most populous country, Haas said.

Add the massive increase in electric cars and hey presto it looks like the human race is in a pickle in terms of energy generation!

Good news, South Africa, we dont have to worry about AI. Since we wont have the electricity to support AI.

You think India has continuous power? We had loadshedding on my recent trip to Delhi end of last year. We had no power fort 6 hours at my hotel because their generators weren't working either. Their power is as reliable as ours.
