MTN media chief resigns

MTN South Africa’s chief sustainability and corporate affairs officer, Jacqui O’Sullivan, has resigned.

This is according to a message MTN SA CEO Charles Molapisi recently sent to staff.

“After six years with MTN SA, our Chief Sustainability and Corporate Affairs Officer, Jacqui O’Sullivan, has made the decision to leave MTN to explore new opportunities,” Molapisi stated.

“During her time with us, Jacqui has made a significant contribution to growing and enhancing the reputation of MTN SA.”

Molapisi thanked O’Sullivan for her contribution in her role and as a member of the executive.

“Jacqui has built a highly competent team that is well placed to continue supporting the business in the very professional manner to which we have become accustomed,” he said.

“In line with our executive notice period, Jacqui will exit MTN SA at the end of February and will be available to MTN until the end of June 2024.”

O’Sullivan’s resignation adds to a series of high-profile departures at MTN since former MTN SA CEO Godfrey Motsa stepped down in January 2022.

Former MTN SA CTO Giovanni Chiarelli and Supersonic CEO Calvin Collett all left with Motsa around the same time.

Collet’s replacement, Megan Nicholas, left MTN in April 2023.

In August 2023, Chiarelli’s replacement, chief technology and information officer Michele Gamberini, also quit the company.
